The Thanksgiving Day holiday, though quite controversial and rich with problematic history, is thought to be a celebration of the feast shared in Plymouth between the Wampanoag people and the Pilgrims after much loss and strife. The celebrations held today center around gratitude for the goodness in life despite all of our hardships.
