Frequently asked questions about Wedding Slideshow
When considering how long a wedding ceremony slideshow should be, it is important to remember that you want your guest to be able to enjoy the entire slideshow. This means that making one too long, will make it so many of your guests will not see the entire thing. Ideally, to increase engagement in the wedding slideshow, it should last about 5-10 minutes.
If you feel like this might be too short, keep in mind that a 5-10 minute slideshow is long enough to include 100 images with 4-5 seconds per image. If, however, it is a rehearsal dinner slideshow or a wedding reception slideshow, you can make it a bit longer.
A wedding slideshow does not need to be just a collection of photos of the happy couple. Instead, it can be themed any way you wish. To determine what to include in the slideshow, select a theme. Traditionally a wedding slideshow shows a timeline of the couple’s lives until the wedding day. If you would like to do something different, here are some additional themes:
- Include interviews from friends and family talking about you as a couple.
- Add funny clips and other videos from your love story.
- Ask for guests to contribute marriage advice to the slideshow.
- Use the Kudoboard wedding slideshow as the guest book and have the congratulations from guests displayed with your photos.
To find an example of a Kudoboard wedding reception slideshow, head to the wedding slideshow portion of our website. As you scroll down the page, you will find a heading titled “Sample Kudoboard.” Below this heading, you will find a “Preview Slideshow” button. Click on this, and you will find an example of how a Kudoboard can be easily turned into a wedding photo display.
Additionally, just below the “Preview Slideshow” you can click “View Original Kudoboard” to see how a Kudoboard initially looks before it is played as a slideshow. Once you are finished with the wedding slideshow, you have the option to print the board as a poster or a book.
Most couples have loads of meaningful photos they wish to include within their slideshow but it is difficult to know when to start becoming more selective of the photos you include. Given the ideal runtime of a wedding ceremony, the slideshow is 5-10 minutes, this gives enough time for 60-120 photos depending on the time spend on each photo. This number changes if you include video messages that are longer than 4-6 seconds.
Ultimately, it is up to the couple. If they want to include all of their selfies together because it is meaningful to them, then go ahead. Just keep in mind the more photos you add, the longer the wedding slideshow becomes.
