Our little peanut Zan,

YOU DID IT!! We couldn’t be more proud of your hard work and determination. From when you came into this world with premature lungs to wanting to be a teacher at five years old to receiving your MS in the Art of Teaching at Sarah Lawrence, you persevered through it all. Your love for children and the beauty of you seeing life through their eyes is breathtaking. We have loved hearing your beautiful poetic storytelling of either children you have observed over the years or babysat for. You have touched and made a huge difference to them and in an uncertain world. You have an amazing quality to see the beauty in it all. Your mentors through this wonderful journey have made such an impact on your life that I know will carry you forward to change the world! Spread those wings and fly!

We love you mostest!

xoxo ❤️

For the past six years from WCC to CNR to Sarah Lawrence I have watched you follow your dreams. Your hard work and determination never faulted as I watched you grow into this bright star that I know will make a difference in a child’s life. The love you have for teaching and your belief in the value of children learning through play is unsurpassed. I know you are off to change the world. I love you mostest!

Dear Ivory Butler,

Congratulations not just on graduating from SLC, but becoming one of the most outstanding students to have ever graced the place! Your kindness and cheerful teaching at the ECC have touched the lives of many children in such a happy and loving way! Your involvement in the Student Life Committee also gave a voice to the happiness and well-being of students when they needed to be heard the most! And every ounce of dedication you've put into your thesis amazes me with all you can accomplish when you set your mind to something! It's been my honor and privilege to be by your side and support you throughout your time as a grad student and in all stages in life! You are my one true love and I'm eternally blessed to have someone so kindhearted and amazing in my life! Dear Zan,

We are so proud of you, and we know you are going to be a very dedicated and passionate teacher. We love you 😍 and congratulations 🎈on this very special day and accomplishment. Love Aunt Therese and Uncle Rob

Our baby girl Emily Stout

You have been a very determined human since the moment you were born as a 2 pound preemie. The odds were against you in 1996, but you fought hard in that hospital bassinet and left the hospital the week of your original due date.

Since then, you have persevered in every moment of life. Your easy going, kind and thoughtful character, makes everyone feel at ease. You have always loved to learn and share your learning.

And now, you are completing a goal in true Emily style, with grace and determination. You went to Yonkers New York in the Fall of 2019 excited about living in New York. 3000 miles away from home. You found the best housemate imaginable. You met new friends, new furry friends, and fell in love with your campus community. All cut short by Covid. You enjoyed one semester in a traditional program. You made the best of it and never complained. You shifted your learning style, and helped others do the same.

We love you and so proud of you and your passion for education. You will be ab inspirational teacher.

We can't wait to celebrate with you sweet girl.

Love mom, dad, Lizzie, grandma, Dylan and Nikki.

Congratulations, Ivory, on getting your Master's in Child Development. It's wonderful to think how you will help children and their families better understand each other and find greater joy in life. No more rice pudding for Mary Jane. We are all very proud of you. Love, Mommy, Daddy, Nolie, Emily Dickinson, Maya Angelou, and Merlin

Master's in Women's History Grads: Congratulations! You are awesome, and the work you have been doing these past 2 years is valuable and important. Best wishes on your future endeavors!
