The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center in North Carolina exists to protect and support the natural life of sea turtles on the east coast. When sea turtles are injured by boats, debris, disease, or anything else, they can be lovingly rehabilitated by the talented teams at Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue.

Canal was one of those beloved sea turtles. After a boat strike left him with buoyance issues, he spent time recovering at the Karen Beasley center, quickly becoming a favorite amongst the volunteers and visitors. When it became apparent that release wasn’t an option for Canal, the center found him a permanent home at the Sea Life aquarium also located in North Carolina.
When it was time to say goodbye to Canal, the center created a group farewell card with Kudoboard where volunteers, visitors, and animal lovers anywhere could share their memories and best wishes for Canal as he moves to his forever home.
